Chuggington Is The Perfect Show For Toddlers

The Author of this post is Morgan Mcleod

One of my favorite shows on television is Chuggington. This is a show about colorful trains with painted faces. They work together around town to solve problems. Sometimes one of them will do something that is not very team-oriented, but they will learn their lesson from it in a good-natured manner. The vivid colors are one of the best parts of the show; they make it easy for toddlers to differentiate between the characters. Another great aspect to the show is the music. The theme song is very catchy, probably because it's so simple. And as the song is playing, the trains are moving and tooting around the tracks. They all end up in the same spot, which is on separate tracks and facing the viewers with smiles. This definitely helps set the right tone for the show.

You might be wondering why an adult would list Chugginton as one of his favorite shows. It's because I have a 2-year-old who loves it. We watch it on Free on Demand on direct tv whenever we can. It really is a great show. It's so good that I think most adults would be entertained by it. When the show is over, my son constantly repeats, “Chuggington! Chuggington! Chuggington!” It's really cool. If something is going to make him that happy, then it's certainly going to make me happy as well.

TV Real Estate Guidance

My husband and I have been married almost 45 years. Our first home was an apartment that we enjoyed for only a year. I wish we had had the benefit of watching the HGTV show "Property Virgins" before buying our next home in which we lived the next forty years. The show "Property Virgins" should be watched by couples everywhere who have never purchased real estate. While watching the satellite tv that we got from www.tvbydirect.com/business-commercial-satellite-tv-deals/, its host, Sandra Rinomato, seems less like a real estate agent and more like a real estate psychologist. She guides new buyers into realizing not only what they need but also what their budgets will allow.

Each episode begins by Ms. Rinomato asking the potential buyer what type of real estate they're seeking. She then finds three properties for her audience to tour along with her customers. There are times that couples start out hoping for luxury they ultimately conclude they cannot afford. The "Property Virgins" begin the program looking for a place to live. Sandra Rinomato guides them through the process of finding a place to live, in a neighborhood they will be happy living while teaching the television audience as well as the "Property Virgins" how to make the final purchase.

A Mini Series with Major Drama

Thanks for the post from Al Mills

My favorite TV mini series is The Last Don, which was a mini series based on a book by Mario Puzo, the same author as the Godfather series. This TV series was no where near the level of The Godfather movies but it was still highly entertaining and very much like a soap opera.

The movie is centered around Cross De Lena, played by the very handsome actor Jason Gederick, which to be honest was the original reason I tuned my Cannon Satellite to this series. The story line follows Cross from childhood, growing up as the son of a mafia soldier to the powerful Clericuzio family, all the way to adulthood when he becomes the unlikely leader of the family. Kristy Alley plays the scorned and emotionally unbalanced daughter of "Don" Clericuzio, blaming her father for the murder of her first love, the son of a rival family, but not before she becomes pregnant. Her son grows up to be a ruthless killer perfectly suited for mafia life and desperate to run the family business. When things don't go his way and Cross gains more and more control within the family, their rivalry turns deadly.

Of course this series has drawn all kinds of criticism for it's obvious comparisons to The Godfather story line, but can it be a rip-off when it is written by the same author? Of course nothing compares to The Godfather in terms of classic mafia movies, but The Last Don can hold it's own.

The Office

Content by Mac Kline

It might be cliche to admit it now, but one of my favorite sitcoms is - and has been for quite some time - The Office. It's one of those popular shows that everyone knows and everyone has an opinion about, especially considering the somewhat questionable turns of the latest few seasons (like the star, Steve Carell, choosing to exit the show at the end of the current season). But I still love it. It's been my comfort tv for many years now, and I can't abandon it after six seasons.

My tradition for watching The Office is almost as important as the show itself - I change into my pajamas, grab the remote and some popcorn, and plop down with direct tv north carolina, and not even a tsunami can move me once I'm settled. The characters are like old friends; I'm so familiar with the titular office that I could work there.

It may not be everyone's cup of tea anymore, but The Office still means something to me and I don't even want to think about the day it leaves the air for good.

The Experience of The Thorn Bird

Guest written by our friend Donnie Donovan

One of the best dramatic mini -series that I have ever seen on my tv would have to be The Thorn Birds. This amazing work came from the imagination of Colleen McCullough's book for the same title. Although this mini-series was produced a number of years ago, the drama, pageantry and beauty of the areas used for filming are still as riveting and breathtaking today as it was when it was first introduced.

The Thorn Birds begins in 1920's Australia and follows the lives of Father Ralph DeBrickasar, a Catholic priest who presides over a small parish that is largely supported by Mary Carson, the owner of Drageeda, the largest and richest sheep ranch in Australia. Into this story enters Paddy Cleary, Mary's brother, and his family, including Meggie, the only daughter. Mary brings her brother and his family to her ranch to help her run the enterprise since they are the only relatives she has.

The story follows the lives of these characters that become so closely intertwined, especially those of Meggie and Father Ralph. The story shows you the lives of the characters spanning more than 50 years, from Meggie's childhood to the death of her only son and marriage of her only daughter. The most intriguing part of the story is the relationship between Meggie and Father Ralph, from her childhood to his death.

A Comedy Worth Laughing At

I appreciate the guest post, Julie Lindsey

I love to relax myself by watching an episode of Everyone Loves Raymond on DirecTV, while stretched out on my comfortable plush sofa. This is my favorite comedy show, and has one of the best set of cast members that I have seen in a long time. Let me begin by saying that I am a mother of four, who works part-time, and has a loving husband, who needs constant attention. So, anything that can relieve me of my everyday stress, most definitely gets my vote. Nonetheless, this show is a smart comedy about a family and their in laws, who actually live right across the street. I enjoy watching the predicaments that the husband, Ray, finds himself in. He is forever trying to get over on his wife, so that he can find some undeserving relaxation, but always seems to get caught. Also, I love his mother's character, because she is always involved in her son's business, including his love life. That alone makes for a great comedy. Even more, I love Ray's brother Robert, who always comes in second place when it comes to his brother, and does not mind making that frustration known to his family. I really love how they express a realistic view of a family in that type of situation. However, this family always sticks together, no matter what the cost, and I believe that is how a family should be. I love Everybody Love's Raymond, and it will always be my favorite comedy show of all times.

Favorite Channel on TV: Lifetime

As a woman, there is nothing like a Saturday spent in bed watching Lifetime programs. You know what I am talking about if you are a woman that loves Lifetime. After a hard week of work, my favorite guilty pleasure to indulge in is watching movies on Lifetime.

Watching movies on Lifetime  is comforting to me. Many of the movies show how women cope in difficult situations. I think Lifetime appeals to women, because it makes us feel like there is someone out there who understands our problems. Lifetime is almost like a television network with compassion for women.

Lifetime is also a great network, due to the movies with famous actresses that it produces. Lifetime has produced movies with notable names like Diane Keaton and Michelle Trachtenburg. The fact that A-list celebrities are willing to make movies on Lifetime just shows what a powerful network this is amongst women. Women flock to Lifetime for movies that revitalize our lives and give us the motivation to carry on with our lives. One uplifting movie that I loved was called Homeless to Harvard.  This movie depicted the struggles of a young woman, as she applied to Harvard University as a homeless person. She ultimately gained admittance and even won a large scholarship to attend.

Lifetime movies inspire me on a daily basis. Without Lifetime, I don't know what I would do!

Cooking Fried Food

Cooking is so relaxing, fun to do and a joy when you see that your guests are pleased with the meal you prepared. I love to learn new recipes. For me, it doesn’t matter what kind of meal that I am preparing, as long as it turns out right, looks like the pictures, and my guests think it tastes great.

I am from the south so I love to fry a lot of food. Whether it be chicken, pork chops, burgers, green beans, or cabbage. If it’s frying in the pan, I am going to be a happy cook when it’s all said and done.

Cooking shows are fun to watch on Satellite TV, and I just found out how to record satellite tv so that I can watch the shows at my convenience.. Not only do you get to cook great food, but you also get to try new dishes and experiment with foods you might have never thought of. The different kind of spices for instance. It is so interesting to see what goes with what when it comes to cooking. Spices bring out a lot of flavor in the food you cook.

I believe my favorite meal to cook for my family is fried chicken, fried green beans, mashed potatoes, biscuits and gravy. My family and friends know on Thursday night this will be the meal I am cooking. So, I usually have to cook more to accommodate all the people.

Thanks to mommy blogger Brandi Beeson for the guest post.

Emeril Live

I love watching shows on Food Network, especially "Emeril Live." Emeril Lagasse is the star chef of the show, and he sure does have attitude! He makes his show a pleasure to watch, since he has such a fun and vibrant personality. I always watch this show on my Satellite TV, which also has great premium movie channels, when I am in need of some positive energy in my life, because Emeril never fails to brighten up my day!

"Emeril Live" takes place in front of a live audience. This is unlike many of the other shows that air on the Food Network. I like that it takes place in front of a live audience, because the show then contains an exciting element. Whenever I watch the show, I am always waiting to hear Emeril Lagasse's signature phrase, "Bam!" The phrase is hilarious. He says it whenever he adds an interesting spice or sautés one of his dishes.

I would categorize many of the recipes that Emeril creates as spicy. If you like mild food, then this is not the show for you! Since I adore spicey food, I am always watching this program for recipe ideas that I can add to my own cooking. Growing up in a Portuguese bakery, Emeril is an inspiration for chefs everywhere. He shows that with hard work, one can achieve whatever he or she wants in life!

Planet Earth

If you have not heard of the stunning television show, Planet Earth, then you must read this. I was at a friend's house when I first discovered this amazing show. At first, I thought it was like any other nature documentary, but I was sorely mistaken. Within minutes I was enthralled by the visuals of the show.

The next day I was watching Direct tv and saw that a marathon of Planet Earth was on. I immediately turned it on and and set my home DVR to record all of them. Now I can watch them whenever I want!

If you do not know, here is the premise of the show. A crew of men places hundreds of HD Cameras around the world in several locations to film the wildlife. They filmed for years before releasing one frame to the public. When they finally did debut the world was stunned. Never had any nature documentary taken such time and effort. This combined with the new HD Cameras that the crew used resulted in a show the likes of which had never been seen before.

On the outside, Planet Earth seems like every other nature documentary, but when you see it for yourself, you will know why it is different. It takes you inside the action. You feel as if you are standing right next to the lioness and her cubs. You feel like you are being chased by a hungry cheetah. Planet Earth makes your senses and emotions come alive. It is truly an amazing show that you must see for yourself.

truTV - My Favorite Channel

Television is one of the most popular entertainment platform and watching television is considered to be the most popular pastime in the world. TV shows are made to entertain, educate, or enlighten its viewers.

I watch TV shows because it entertains me. One of my favorite channel is the truTV. They have shows that make you scream and be wowed. I enjoy watching Cops, Forensic Files, The World's Most Dangerous Police Chases, Most Daring, World's Wildest Vacation Videos and a lot more. I admit that these shows are sometimes frightening yet hilarious. I always keep caution when I watch truTV because they show a lot of real events, that makes my heart wants to stop beating.

Anyway, the truTV video below, is a clip from World's Wildest Vacation. I am so amazed of how plentiful the fish are in that area. I remember our fishing trip few days ago ( we were not able to catch big fish), I wish we can find a place similar to the one in the video. I will surely have a blast!

Guys, if you want to watch shows with real stories and shows that are action-packed, flick your remote control to truTV channel but beware though because their shows make your heart beats fast and some are gut-wrenching.

Black Gold on truTV

Reality TV shows can be addicting. Have you noticed that there are so many reality TV shows in different stations? Reality TV shows provide viewers not only entertainment but somehow it gives them hope. One of the most interesting and entertaining reality TV shows today is the truTV BLACK GOLD. This TV show is about the roughnecks working in the oilfield of Texas. This series will focus on three crews of roughnecks of Rig 28, who have a seemingly impossible job - they must drill four, back-breaking holes in 50 days.

The truTV BLACK GOLD characters are all interesting. They all have different character flaws that can be a hindrance to the success of their quest to dig oil. These Texas roughnecks clash, argue and yell–all in the pursuit of oil. Some of them has years and years of experience while there is one with no experience at all. Working as a roughneck is a hard and serious job. These guys can't afford to make any mistakes because it might cost them their jobs or, even more importantly, their lives.

As any other reality show, accidents though happen. You can check truTV BLACK GOLD Healthcare on how they provide the oil crews with first aids.

Guys, don't forget to tune into BLACK GOLD every Wednesdays at 10p/9c.

Bonding Moments with truTV

Dave and I love watching movies and TV shows. This has been our bonding moments since we got married. We always enjoy cuddling in the couch, while Andrea is sleeping and both of us are enjoying the movie or TV show.

One of our favorite shows in TV is the Most Shocking and Most Daring. We also love watching Cops. In Alabama, where we live, these shows can be seen at Channel 246 truTV. The truTV is television's destination for real-life stories. The stories in their shows are told from an exciting and dramatic first-person perspective. Most of their shows are action-packed originals that will surely make the viewers hold their breaths. Their shows give viewers access to places and situations they can't normally experience.

The clip below is from Most Daring. I tell you, if you have a heart problem, you need to watch this truTV video with caution. The video clip is real and it happened in real life thus it is not staged. If you watched the movie clip below I am sure you will be amazed and scared at the same time. This type of movie clip is what make truTV the number one destination for real-life stories. The truTV channel provides its viewers with breathtaking shows that will surely capture their attention and leaves them out of breath.
