Favorite Channel on TV: Lifetime

As a woman, there is nothing like a Saturday spent in bed watching Lifetime programs. You know what I am talking about if you are a woman that loves Lifetime. After a hard week of work, my favorite guilty pleasure to indulge in is watching movies on Lifetime.

Watching movies on Lifetime  is comforting to me. Many of the movies show how women cope in difficult situations. I think Lifetime appeals to women, because it makes us feel like there is someone out there who understands our problems. Lifetime is almost like a television network with compassion for women.

Lifetime is also a great network, due to the movies with famous actresses that it produces. Lifetime has produced movies with notable names like Diane Keaton and Michelle Trachtenburg. The fact that A-list celebrities are willing to make movies on Lifetime just shows what a powerful network this is amongst women. Women flock to Lifetime for movies that revitalize our lives and give us the motivation to carry on with our lives. One uplifting movie that I loved was called Homeless to Harvard.  This movie depicted the struggles of a young woman, as she applied to Harvard University as a homeless person. She ultimately gained admittance and even won a large scholarship to attend.

Lifetime movies inspire me on a daily basis. Without Lifetime, I don't know what I would do!

Satellite Dish

For most of us, television is a good companion. It is actually a good source of entertainment. For me, the international channel that I can purchase in my tv service provider is a good way of having a sense of home. The shows that the international channel provides make me feel like I still have a connection to where I came from. These shows make me feel like I am not thousands of miles away.

As television provides entertainment for me, on the other hand it provides learning experience for my daughter. The educational shows that she watched has helped her in her understanding and vocabulary. It is amazing at how much she can pick up with the shows. Kids can easily pick up things in TV that is why it is also important that we parents will provide them with parental guidance.

I am just glad that we have a reliable TV service. Looking back, I really didn't have a problem what to chose for our TV service because I chose DirectTV over other offers because directv comes with free satellite dish installation. I know that installing satellite dish can be costly but since they Direct TV offered it for free I grabbed the deal. It may look like it is very easy to install a satellite dish but it is important that this be done by a professional. There are government rules for installing a dish and these professionals are well aware of this.

Act it Out: Summer Boredom Solutions

Thanks to my friend Alex Yankovish for the guest post.

Summer can be an inescapable, boring holiday if you don’t know how to handle it. Our family usually comes up with something just at the last minute, but we always do one thing every year and that’s go to the outdoor amphitheatre. The amphitheatre has different plays every week during the summer, including on holidays like the 4th of July.

Some days we bring snacks and watch the play in the afternoon before it gets too hot. On rainy days, we like to act out the play at home since the amphitheatre is usually closed. We make a stage at home and use curtains and blankets to create a fun experience for the kids. Sometimes we stay home and make up our own plays and let the kids decide what the skits should be about.

As a parent, letting your kids creativity grow is a fun experience to watch and giving them the opportunity to see other people’s creativity in action or to create their own play can really make a difference. We always take a day every week to be together as a family this way; we turn on the satellite TV, close the blinds and watch TV as a family. Were able to find great family programming through tvbydirect.com We make a special pact to be together at least one night a week during the summer so that we can keep up with everything that’s going on in each other’s lives.

Food Network…yum

Food Network is my favorite channel  by far. I love that I can switch over to this channel anytime I want and find something wonderful on to watch. They have a ton of cooking shows.  Sandra Lee and Rachael Ray are my favorite.

Sandra Lee has a new show called "Sandra's Money Saving Meals." I watch this one any chance I can get to catch it. She always has several recipes per 30 minute show. She shows you easy ways to do it all by yourself at home from scratch. Everything is done with the cheapest method possible. She even has a recipe she calls her round 2 recipe to use leftovers from something you cooked earlier. She will show you wonderful things you can get at restaurants made at home. She even shows a tally at the end of each recipe that shows you how much money you saved. She then shows a running total at the end of the show for all of the recipes.

This channel has everything from cooking shows to cooking challenges. There is even a reality show on here where someone earns their own show on the Food Network. If you never watch this channel, check it out. You will love it!

Big thanks to Peyton Webb for the guest post

Doctor's Visit

Pedia visits are very important both for me and Andrea. It is important for me to keep Andrea checked about her health and wellness. Our pedia visits always takes a lot of wait time. The group of pediatricians that we go to has so many patients but they are very thorough that is why I like them despite the wait time. While waiting, we are not bored because they have a commercial DIRECT TV in all their waiting lounge. They also have plenty of toys to keep the kids occupied.

On the other hand, when I was rushed to the health clinic during the holidays, I noticed that most health institutions has DIRECT TV Business in their waiting lounge. I have been to few health institution and most of them has the same TV channels in their waiting lounge.

DIRECT TV for Business has a big impact on people especially when it comes to entertainment. Watching shows or programs shortens the customer's perceived wait time by keeping them entertained while they wait.

HDTV

Technology evolves. I remember the old TVs with turning dials when you want to change channels. Then there were TVs that has an attached humongous speakers. Then remote TV came. There were TVs that were so big and so heavy. Then came the flat screen TV and of course these days the in thing is the HDTV.

I remember when I first I got here in the USA, I have never seen a flat screen 65" TV so, when I saw one when I first visited my father in law, I was so impressed and amazed of their TV. When flat screen TV was new in the market, it was very expensive but nowadays it is more affordable. I saw some very affordable HDTV at Vanns TV. You can check out their TV and Home Theater for great deals everyday.

Since HDTV is the in thing this time, you might want to check out Screen Sleuth for HDTV News, Reviews and Deals. At their website you can actually compare TV prices from different stores. They also have complete listing of prices and deals you can find at Boscovs TV. If you prefer to shop for TV and Home Theater at Tiger Direct TV you can also find their complete selection and prices at Screen Sleuth.

Shop for a new HDTV at an affordable prices. Visit Screen Sleuth and find the best deal of the day.
