'Twas my 32nd Birthday

I celebrated my 32nd birthday last April 2. I had a birthday party that lasted almost 24 hours (I am not kidding!). My party was last Friday that is the reason why I was silent in the online world.

Anyway, though I was not online much, I know my blog pals didn't forget my birthday. To all my friends who posted birthday greetings on their blogs, thank you so much. I appreciated your effort despite not commenting on it. Yes, I saw them and I am very thankful. Do I need to mention it? Nah... you know who you are. From the bottom of my heart, thank you! Thank you also to all who left happy birthday comments on my blogs and the birthday blog posts of my friends' blogs.

To all my pals who took time to post a message on my FB wall thank you too. Of course, special thank you goes to my friends who sent gifts.

My birthday party was a success. It was really tiring but it was so much fun. It was worth not sleeping.

PS
Hey Babe, thank you for making my birthday very special! I love you!

Party Giveaway

We are excited because tomorrow Andrea will have her 3rd birthday party. It won't really be a big party, it is just something small where she can blow her birthday cake and we can sing "happy birthday" to her. Kids birthday are always fun and as much as possible we wanted to give our daughter a party in celebration of her birthday because we believe that it is important for a child to have her friends and celebrate their birthday with them.

I have planned to prepare some food and giveaways for tomorrow's party. Obviously, I will have a bag of candies for the kids (and adults too, if they want). I think the bag of candies are what the kids look forward to as they can always have an excuse to eat more than they are allowed to.

I hope the weather will cooperate tomorrow and it won't be too cold so that visitors and guests will come and party with us. You are all invited to party with us in celebration of Andrea's 3rd birthday! See you there!

We had...
  • Kare-kare
  • Calderetang baka
  • Menudo
  • Ginataang Kalabasa with Shrimp
  • Tinolang Manok
  • Sinagang na Bangus
  • Bangus Relyeno
  • BBQ Chicken
  • Palabok
  • Bilo-bilo
  • Ice Cream Cake
We had so much food that we have to have our take home food. It was a great night with friends... endless chatter and playing cards. Too bad I forgot my camera so I can't upload pics yet.

Andrea's 2nd Birthday Party

It was a tiring week for us.... but I am not complaining! We all had fun during Andrea's Birthday Party. Having a party is no joke especially if it is a Filipino party. Filipino party means a lot of food so you have to cook a lot too!

The food we prepared was all delicious. I am thankful that my friend Ging was nice enough to offer their place for party's venue. She also helped me cook half of what was served during the party.

Andrea had fun and she loves the cake... she couldn't wait to dig in! I want also to thank Mom and Dan for making Andrea's birthday very special.

Here's some of the pics during Andrea's big day!

Alex's Bday Party

We went to Ging's house to attend Alex's bday party earlier. She is 4 years old now. It was really fun to see friends again and to meet new friends.

Andrea had a blast because the theme of the party is Dora. One of Andrea's favorite cartoon characters is Dora. She had so much fun hugging and kissing the Dora balloon. She was amazed with all the Dora things.. cups, paper napkins, give aways and more... She also enjoyed playing with other kids in Alex's room.

Andrea is a party girl. She entertained everyone and she even gave kisses to people that she know. She got so sleepy yet she didn't sleep because there was so much going on and I am sure she doesn't want to miss a thing....

I don't have a lot of photos... but I will grab some when my friends will post it in their facebook...

My Birthday Party Last Night

I had a bifthday party last night hosted by my good friend Lotlot. It was a good get together for all of us. We had a lot of food. Of course, since we are filipinos, pancit was present for "long life" tradition.

I was surprise that Lotlot bought a bday cake for me. It was very nice of her to do it. I appreciate all my friends who were there for the celebration of my birthday. Thanks everyone for coming and celebrating with me. And of course, thanks for the gifts.

I love all the gifts and cards that I got. What stands above them all is the little card that Jonathan, a 5 year old (Lotlot's son) made for me. It was so thoughtful of him to do that.

Anyway, thanks everyone! I had a wonderful birthday party.

Birthday Party Planning

As a kid, I grew up looking forward to birthday celebrations not because we received gifts during this day but because we always have a good dinner. We usually have chicken for dinner basically because, we grew chickens in our backyard and we just dressed the chicken at no cost. Having chicken for dinner is already a big treat for us. Sometimes if there was extra money we will also be treated half a glass of cola. That seldom happens though.

When, I saw our well to do neighbors celebrating their birthdays, I couldn't help but fantasize a good birthday party for myself when I can afford one. I always thought of having a big party with a roast pig, a custom-made cake, a lot of softdrinks and a lot of fresh fruits. I even imagined it to be in our own front yard under a tent decorated with balloons and a birthday streamer. I would invite all my friends and neighbors. I was envisioning it to be one of a kind party. That was my dream birthday party! My dream was materialized few years ago before I moved her in the USA.

Having Andrea in my life, I always wanted to give her the best birthday party. What parent wouldn't dream of giving the best for her child? Party planning is exhausting because you have to make sure that every little thing is taken cared of. My friend suggested to me to hire professionals to help plan kids birthday party. She had done it once and her birthday party was a lot better and less stress on her part. They have experts that helped her to have a fabulous birthday party the easy way. On Andrea's birthday I am giving them a shot!
