It's Snowing!

A WHITE CHRISTMAS and more! That's what we had. It has been snowing for two days already and we are all loving it. It is not much of a snow but an inch or two but for us it is worth celebrating and a reason enough to be excited about it.

Bundled up and ready to shop despite the snowy weather. Andrea is wearing the disney hat and gloves that her Ate Mischa sent.

She has to play with the "ice" before coming inside and stay warm for the night.

I am a Butterfly!

Andrea has decided that she is a butterfly and she can fly. I thought that it was just a "one day affair".... I was wrong!

Here's the story. When we went shopping for Andrea's Halloween outfit, she saw the butterfly wings and she got so fascinated with it so we bought her one. When we got home, she wanted to be a butterfly so I put the wings on. When she had her wings, she wants to get out of our place because she wants to fly outside. Off we go outside and ran around. She kept on jumping as she thinks she is flying. She had her wings on for a long time.

I never thought she will remember being a butterfly the following morning. Oh well, I was wrong! The moment she woke up, she wants her wings right away! So here's Andrea, the butterfly in pajamas .....

Swing!

Finally, my daughter decided that she wants to swing! Out of the blue while we were in the park she told me, "Come on Mommy, let's go swing, swing, swing!"

Can you imagine how thrilled we were? She never wants the swing! She either cries or say no no no when we want her to be in the swing.

But I guess she got enough courage to ride the swing... lol! Well, we were glad because we know that she will like it... Indeed she had fun with it!

My Pajama Model

Who else can my model be but my daughter! Her Nana and Papa bought her some fall clothes including this Dora Pajama. You all know how my daughter loves Dora! Here she is, showing off her new Dora Pajama Set.

It's Raining, Mommy!

It finally rained last Sunday. The weather was cool and for the first time in a long time, it felt like fall! We were loving it. Andrea of course enjoyed the rain. She often tells me "Catch the rain Mommy"

When we were eating out at Bojangles, she couldn't resist looking over the window telling me "It's Raining Mommy!"

Dora is Hungry

Andrea had her usual breakfast... yogurt! Well, she decided that Dora was also hungry. She feed Dora with yogurt saying "Eat Dora".... I asked her "Andrea what are you doing?" She answered me... "Mommy Dora is hungry"

Tell me, how can you get mad at that (even if I have to clean the mess)?

Peek-a-boo

Peekaboo (also spelled Peek-a-boo) is a game played with babies. In the game, the older player hides their face, pops back into the baby's view, and says Peekaboo! sometimes followed by I see you!

While we went out to dine last weekend, Andrea met a boy (almost) her age at the next booth. They were having so much fun playing peek-a-boo. You can hear their giggles. It was a cute scene. I was thinking.... were they just plainly playing or were they flirting.... ???? Hmmp! Hahaha

New and Bigger Portable Pool

We decided to buy Andrea a new and bigger pool. She had a great time swimming on it last weekend. One thing I can say, Andrea never lacks attention. While she was swimming, we were under the shade watching her. There was her Nana, Papa Dan, Me and Dave watching her and trying to enjoy her giggles.

I can't believe she still don't want to get out of the pool even if her skin feels like frozen already.

Night Swimming

As I have mentioned many times, I am not sun-friendly. I often get headache when I am out in the sun. This means that Andrea has to stay inside with me instead of enjoying the hot weather.

Anyway, we still let her get her swimming fun but instead of day time, we let her have a night swimming.

We bought her a smaller portable pool. It is easier to fill it up with water and Andrea always have a blast splashing....

Andrea's Dental Surgery

We dreaded this day but it has to be done. Andrea is scheduled to have her Full Mouth Rehab today and it was done in an outpatient surgery facility.

The surgery procedure lasted for over an hour. We were briefed by nurses and anesthesiologist. Her dentist talked to us before and after the surgery. As usual, the facility and the medical staff are all very accommodating. The surgery took place at Children's South, the same place where Andrea had her Ear Tubes done a year ago.

Anyway, because Andrea has to have anesthesia, she felt groggy when we were discharged. When we got home she was still groggy.

Right now, she is feeling okay and just finished eating her "rice and egg".

Andrea's Dental Visit

Today was Andrea's first dental appointment. As we have expected she cried. Andrea doesn't like medical professionals (that I am sure). She even cries when she sees her pediatrician. Anyway, we got bad news. Andrea has teeth problems that she will need to undergo a rehab. She is scheduled for mouth rehab on June 16, 2010.

I am upset of course because I brushed her teeth and I didn't expect that to happen to her. I admit I don't have a healthy teeth... so perhaps it is in the genes. Anyway, our consolation is we are in the right track. Since we found out about her teeth problems earlier, we hope that the dentist can remedy it.

For her mouth rehab, she will be in an outpatient surgery facility. There were two options for the treatment but I opted for the surgery because this will ensure that the procedure will be done right without the worries of Andrea's crying and fussing.

I will be bringing Andrea to her pediatrician on June 8 for pre-op check.

Bedroom Transition

We dreaded the idea of putting Andrea to her own bedroom. Andrea is used to sleeping with us. She didn't sleep on her crib alone but for a few times only. She was in her own sleeping in her crib which was located near our bed for a bit. But when we weaned her from the bottle, she wouldn't sleep in the crib anymore. She slept in between us for quite sometime.

Dave thought that Andrea is old enough and it is no longer fitting to sleep with him. So, for a few weeks, Dave slept in the couch while Andrea and I slept in bed. Then we decided to give Andrea a room of her own. We prepared ourselves for a difficult transition.

Surprisingly, Andrea welcomed the change. Thanks to all the Dora designs. We made her a Dora room and it made a difference. She now sleeps in her bed. She still looks for me when she wakes up in the middle of the night. But when I put her back to sleep, she never fuss.

It was so amazing how easy the transition is. The picture below shows Andrea taking a nap in her bed.

Busy Saturday

My back is sore... but we are happy with what we accomplished. We rearrange everything today. Move our furnitures and made our bedroom as Andrea's room.

We had to discard some things to give way to our rearrangement. In fact, as much as I hate to do it, I discarded some of my angels. It didn't go to waste though as my neighbor took it. I am glad she did though. Those were my first set of angels when I got here in the USA.

Our bedroom became Andrea's Dora bedroom. Our spare bedroom which is smaller is now our bedroom. We gave the bigger room to Andrea to make way to her many toys and other stuff.

Andrea loves her new room and keeps on pointing on her Dora wall decors. She loved playing in her new room.

New Builder

Andrea has been really good with stacking blocks even when she was very little. She first had the wood blocks that she played forever. She had gotten good at stacking it and forming lines with it.

Last Christmas, we decided to buy her with Megablocks to challenge her creativity. Actually at first we wanted to buy her with Lego but the LEGO have very tiny pieces which is not ideal for Andrea's age. When we saw the megablocks we know that Andrea will love it.

Here's some picture of the new builder...

Customer in Training

Few days ago, we went to shop at Whole Foods and found a very neat thing. While looking for a shopping basket or pushcart, we found a small shopping pushcart that has a "Customer in Training" on it. These shopping pushcarts are designed for the little ones to use while shopping. Obviously, Andrea was so excited to shop and push the pushcart. She was on the go pushing the cart everywhere. Of course, her daddy has to guide her so as she won't run over everybody. While I was shopping for fish and veggies, father and daughter are busy pushing the pushcart all over the store. They will just come back to get the things I picked and put it in Andrea's pushcart.

After I was done shopping, we were ready to go but Andrea was not! She still wants to push the pushcart around. The store is somewhat expensive but they have a variety of fresh fish (with heads on) that is why we shop there every once in a while. Perhaps next time, we will give Andrea more time to do her shopping....

Andrea Turns 2 Today

Today is Andrea's big day! She is now 2 years old.

We are lucky to have Andrea in our life. She is a very good girl. Like any other babies, she has her shares of tantrums and she sometimes misbehaves but Andrea is a very sweet girl. I hope that she will grow up to be a wonderful child of God.

Happy birthday baby doll! Mommy and Daddy loves you very much.

Note: Thanks Mami Dhemz for the birthday scrap...

Check-up Appointment

We will be busy tomorrow. We need to wake up early because Andrea has an appointment with her pediatrician at 10:15AM. This is pretty early for us because we usually wake up around 11AM. We need to leave our home not later than 9:15 to make sure that we won't be late with our appointment.

I am sure Andrea will get some shots. I hope she won't be cranky and she won't get sick. I don't want her to be sick because we will have a party for her on Saturday.

Anybody wants to come?

Work of Art

Andrea made her work of art. We have given her crayons and coloring books but she barely scribble on it...

I gave her a white paper and it worked! Perhaps she wants her own design lol

See the little table and chair? That's her Nana's early gift... we wanted to get Dora table and chair but there was none so we just bought the princess table and chair set.

This comes with complete set of utensils. The little chef has so much fun playing with this. Her favorite is the microwave. She will open it put something in there, press the buttons and open it again. She is learning to cook now...lol!

Hard Working Little Girl

Yesterday we decided to rearrange our living room because I plan on putting up the Christmas tree today. We moved our couches and our aquarium. Re-arranging things is somewhat laborious and my little girl wanted to help. She was so happy to help me clean up and sweep our carpet.

Andrea was helping me until I was done. She was such a big helper that after we clean we gave her a treat.... Ice cream in a cone!
