Wall Decals

We have not done a lot of changes in our home since we bought it.  We have plans of doing little by little depending on our budget.  We have bought furnitures and other stuffs and we still have to buy some more.  We are not in hurry though because we know what our priorities are.

Buying home decors requires a lot of budget.  If I wanted our home to have the look that I really wanted, I have to have more money to do so but since I know that we don't have money-bearing trees, I decided to be practical.  Thanks to the idea of wall decals.  Wall decals have transformed our little home into something classy yet very affordable.

I found the Headboard wall decals by Dezign With a Z and I think they are very beautiful.  I became bold and put it on top of our mantle instead of using it as a backdrop to our bed.  I was surprise at how it turned out.  It was amazing.

Dezign With a z vinyl wall decals & decorative wall stickers are very easy to apply and easy to remove. They have the largest online selection of premium wall decor too!  Hubby and I enjoyed putting up the wall decals above and we are very satisfied at how it looks in our mantle.  We also put little stuffs in our bathroom.  We decided to put some hearts and butterfly wall stickers in our bathroom.  My 5 year old daughter is so in love with the designs.

I know I found the solution in decorating our home with affordable wall decals and wall stickers.  I recommend that you check out Dezign with a z for your home and office decorative wall decals.

Goodbye Carpet, Hello Wood Floor

Last Saturday, we bade goodbye to our carpet. It was a relief as we have been having so much problem cleaning up the carpet. It was awful that we were so glad the apartment management gave in to our request of having a wood floor.

Now, our place looks nicer and we are all loving it!

Advocate of Home Safety

I am an advocate of home safety. It is very important for me to feel safe and secure inside my home. I am not only protecting myself and our possessions but my major concern is the safety of my child. The crime rate in different areas in our state is very alarming. Birmingham, Alabama as we all know has high crime rate and living near that area makes me aware to double my awareness on home safety and security.

My daughter is over 2 years old already and I have instilled in her mind little things about safety. She already know that we should chain the door at all times. When her dad leaves for work, she tells me "Mama chain" which means I have to lock the chains. This little things can help improve home safety.

There are many ways to make our homes secure and safe. One effective way is installing a home security system. The home security systems offered by homesecurityteam.com are very reliable. It provides home security in a more modern way. Their security system is linked to a monitoring system. When the sensors are triggered proper actions will be executed by the monitoring team.

Did you know that Fort Worth, PD has very effective tips on home security? You can check out the checklist which is designed to assist you in making a security survey of your own home. There are very simple police security tips that we can apply in our own homes to make us more secure. Home alarm signs and decals, bars on windows, strong locks and doors, big dogs are just a few of them.

Beautify Your Homes

Our homes are our safe haven. Have you ever noticed that even how luxurious our vacations or get-aways are, it always feels good to be home? Home sweet home indeed!

Because our homes are our own place, we want it to be special. We want it to be designed in such a manner that it will fit our personality. Not all of us have a flare for interior decorations but nonetheless, we always make sure that we buy things to beautify our own space. Have you ever think of giving your master bedroom a makeover? You can create an instant bedroom makeover by buying Donna Karan Home bedding. A different design and color of your bedding can make a difference. I always think that our master bedroom is a special place that is why I always make sure that I have my favorite colors and designs of our bedding. I also buy different bath accessories for our bathroom to make it more stylish. I am fond of using bright colored towels. Sometimes it is fun to experience with what color matches your shower curtains and your other bath accessories.

Beautifying ones home is just a matter of trial and error procedure. It just needs your time and your judgment too. It doesn't need to be very expensive to beautify your homes. You can visit DonnaKaranHome.com if you are looking for luxury bedding sets, bath accessories and window treatment products. You can even get a free standard shipping if you purchase $125 or more.

The Painting Job

As I have mentioned, we decided to change the color of our walls. We repainted it with green. Painting was fun and a hard job but Dave and I enjoyed doing it. We started painting at around midnight and finished at past 4am. At first we were not sure about the color that I picked. I was a bit disappointed with it but when we were done painting we were so surprised how much we love the color.

The new color of our walls brings out the beauty of our painting. We were satisfied at how it turned out. We are actually loving the new color of our walls....

The Vacuuming Job

Andrea hates the vacuum. When we have to vacuum our place, Andrea and I has to stay inside our bedroom and let Dave do the vacuuming. Vacuums scared Andrea. When not in used, she never get near our vacuum. By the way, our vacuum at the moment is one of those upright vacuums.

We are trying to ease Andrea's fear of vacuum but so far it is not working. I am wondering why when we go to the store and we see store employees vacuuming the store, it doesn't bother Andrea. I guess that commercial vacuums for her are not as scary as our household vacuum.

Speaking of vacuum, we are planning to buy one of the bagless vacuums that I have seen in the commercial. It looks like it is very dependable. I bet in the long run it will be cheaper because I will no longer need to buy vacuum bags.

Childproofing your Homes

Part of responsible parenthood is childproofing your homes. When the child reaches to an age where he or she can move and reach anything it is time to childproof your homes to prevent accidents to happen.

There are plenty of products offered by Safety 1st, KidCo, Evenflo, Mommy's Helper and more that offers safety for your kids. Products such as baby gates, child safety locks, outlet covers, cabinet locks, window guards and much more are available everywhere to help childproof your homes.

Childproofing is very important that is why KidSafe offers online selection of high quality baby proofing products. As a mother myself, I always practice "safety first" with my daughter. I make sure that all our cabinets have safety locks and all hazardous items are beyond her reach. I admit that sometimes there are little things that she can get into that is why childproofing is an everyday routine for me.

Raising a child is a daily learning experience for me that is why I always read child safety tips. I am just glad that I found valuable information and safety tips from KidSafe. If you want to learn some tips from them visit them today or check KidSafe Blog to learn about child safety issues. You can also check their updates in Facebook and Twitter.

Building Services

As time pass by, a building always needs maintenance. Whether the building is industrial, commercial or residential, they all need proper maintenance to maintain its appearance and safety. Sometimes, owners of different building also want to upgrade thus a reliable building services should be contacted to ensure that a job will be done accurately.

When it comes to flooring services, many experts would suggest epoxy floors because it will withstand heavy traffic and it is resistant to many chemicals. Epoxy floors give high compressive strengths thus it is recommended for buildings like printing houses, factories, warehouses, bakeries, pharmaceutical laboratories and a lot more.

Concrete flooring has been used in many buildings but there are many disadvantages in using concrete flooring. The most common problem about concrete is the concrete spalling or rust stains. Spalled concrete is not pleasing to the eyes and in addition to it, it is very hazardous because spalled concrete can fall and cause injury. If your building shows tear and you start seeing spalled concrete, you need to contact somebody to do your concrete repairs. Remember that the earlier you can repair it, the better.

For all your building services needs, you might want to check out Remedial Building Services.

Ceiling Fans

I am proud to admit that I have a wonderful relationship with my mother. Every time I am able to talk to her, we always have fun. It is great that Mom and I can talk about anything and we always share jokes and laughs. We can talk about fashion, daily living, married life, family planning, weather, kids, diet (she insists that I badly need it...) and much much more. Our topics are unlimited that is why we can keep on talking for long hours.

The last time I talked to her, I asked her what she wants for Christmas. She told me about some beauty products and new personal things. She also told me that if I can afford it, she wants a new ceiling fan for their bedroom. Mom is always considerate on my financial situation and I respect her more for that. She never demands on what she wants... sometimes she will request but she never demands.

My Mom's request of a ceiling fan made me surf the net and look for quality ceiling fans. I found a website called Hansen Wholesale Ceiling Fans. This website has a huge collection of ceiling fans. It sells the most popular brand names of ceiling fans like Casablanca ceiling fans which are known for its fine quality and design. They also have Hunter ceiling fans which are known for its mid range quality and style and its average price. They also have some other brands like Emerson, Fanimation, Minka Aire and more. If you are planning to buy ceiling fans, the best to place to shop is the Hansen Wholesale Ceiling Fans.

This is a Casablanca Heritage Ceiling Fan Model C19564F. One of my favorites.

Flooring

Remember in my last posts about our house extension? It is almost done now. Due to some changes of the plan, the proposed budget was not enough. Nobody expected that the budget will exceed that much but nonetheless it is being handled now. We decided that the finishing touches including painting of the house will be the next big project.

We wanted to have a solid wood flooring on our house to make it different than the rest in our neighborhood but I think it will add more to the expenses. As much as we would like to have a wood flooring we will just settle for Vinyl Flooring. We would like to have something like the picture below. It is an Armstrong Rhinofloor XL Supergrip Natural Tuscany Black Silver. This type of textured vinyl is slip-resistant and very attractive. If it will be feasible to our budget, we will surely want this style.

We also plan to buy some rugs for our home because we believe that rugs will provide great accent to any room. We will be looking for rugs that are 100% polypropylene because they are easy to clean and somewhat cheaper. We have so many plans for our house but money is limited so we will just do it one at a time.

Perfect Gift for a Garden Lover

I am not into giving expensive gifts. First and foremost, I can't afford expensive items. What I always give during Christmas is something that is practical and something that will be appreciated. It can be something personalized or something with sentimental value.

I noticed that most of my friends love to plant flowers and they also enjoy gardening. I think that giving them either a window flower boxes or window plant boxes will be practical. I am sure that if I will give them these type of gifts, they can put it into good use. Another option for me is to give them a windowboxplanters gift certificate. This will allow them to shop and buy the style of window boxes that they will prefer. At windowboxplanters.com, you can shop for different style, size, finish and material of window boxes. They offer free shipping and they have expert customer service that will assist you in everything you need.

Are you a garden lover or do you know somebody that will like to have garden window boxes? Let them know about windowboxplanters.com!

Progress of our House Extension

Slowly, we can see a little progress of our house extension in the Philippines. I know my sister has spent a lot already because the prices of all the materials have increased. We are just glad to see the pictures finally. Right now, they put the trusses already and in few days they will be putting the roof.

Looking at the picture, we can't believe how big the extension is. The extension looks bigger than our existing house. We are so anxious to see our home improvement. I am sure it will look a lot nicer and it will be spacious when all of us come home.

Speaking of our the house extension, we are so glad that the contractor that does our house extension is very keen on their work. We have nothing to say against them. They work fast and they have sophisticated hand tools that helped them do their job faster. They won't have a problem installing the french door that we wanted because they have power drills. Hopefully, at the end of the month we will see more work done.

Couches

Our living room is our comfort zone. Since we live in a tiny place, we use our living room as our entertainment room too. On one side of our living room is where Andrea's box of toys. Andrea knows that after playing she has to return all her toys on one corner. As much as possible we want to make our living room as less cluttered as possible but somehow we seldom accomplish that. If you have a child as old as Andrea, I know you can relate to me. Toys are always everywhere. After you pick up everything, Andrea plays with another set of toys.

Our two couches in the living room has been very useful. It does not only serves as an ordinary couch but it is Andrea's favorite place to play with her cooking toys. She loves to line them up in our couch and pretends that she is serving us with some of her cooked food. Sometimes though, I wish we have leather couches because it will be easier for me to clean up when Andrea spilled something on it.

(My favorite leather couch)

In the future when we will have our own home, I will love to have reclining couches in our entertainment room. I bet that a reclining couch will be very comfy and will be ideal for our movie marathons.
