Student Loans

I love being a mom though at first I was afraid that being one would actually limit my network of friends to “just” moms. I was amazed that there are actually different groups of moms and that I get to interact with all of them from a Mommy standpoint. There are the stay-at-home moms and work-at-home moms. There are moms who still work in offices and moms who do online jobs at the comfort of their own home. There are moms who prefer to be homemakers and moms who pursue their careers.

One thing new that I’ve learned though is that a lot of moms still hope to finish their college degree. Student loans are not at all familiar to me. I was surprised to learn that there are different types of private student loans. Having an option on which to apply for is important because being a mom while studying makes some things, like having a job, difficult. Knowing how to pay it and when or how long you need to pay it becomes critical especially when balancing your studies with caring for a child.

Through our discussion of loans, I also learned a variety of tools to save for college. Preparing beforehand is important so that you will not feel pressured by your obligations. Earning a degree for me is important no matter what your age is because it is something you can fall back on when your little ones are not so little anymore.
