Have you ever had to close a company? What did you do with all it's assets?
My friend and I were chatting earlier and she mentioned that one of the hardest things her husband had to do when the recession hit was to close down a company. It wasn't actually their company, the headquarters was here in the US, but since he was the country head, he had to close everything locally.
One of his biggest problem was what to do with the assets. First they tried to sell it. They were able to sell more than half of everything they used, IT and telephony equipments and furniture, but there were still a lot that were left and most of them were defective CPUs and monitors.
Renting a storage space wasn't a good idea because most of them were unusable. Good thing they thought of electronic recycling and computer recycling. There are companies now who actually recycle unused or old computer or electronic stuff. I think it's great that there are ways to minimize e-waste nowadays.
Are you familiar with e-waste? What do you do with your old electronics or computer sets?
