Monday Movie Meme: Music

When I see the theme of this week's Monday Movie Meme... the first thing that came to my mind is Jamie Fox who played the role of "The Soloist". It was a very good movie and it is based on a true story. I am always fascinated with true story movies especially if they will make a documentary at the end of it. So obviously, The Soloist will be on the top of the list.

Here's my pick for this week.

The Soloist
In 2005, the only thing hurting Los Angeles Times columnist Steve Lopez more than his face from a recent bike accident was his pressing need for story ideas. That is when he discovers Nathaniel Ayers, a mentally ill, homeless street musician who possesses extraordinary talent, even through his half-broken instruments. Inspired by his story, Lopez writes an acclaimed series of articles about Ayers and attempts to do more to help both him and the rest of the underclass of LA have a better life. However, Lopez's good intentions run headlong in the hard realities of the strength of Ayers' personal demons and the larger social injustices facing the homeless. Regardless, Lopez and Ayers must find a way to conquer their deepest anxieties and frustrations to hope for a brighter future for
both of them.

Mama Mia
Sophia Sheridan is 20 years old and lives with her mother Donna on an idyllic Greek island. She is about to be married and wishes for only one thing: that her father walk her down the aisle and give her away. The only problem is that she doesn't know who her father is and her mother won't discuss it with her. After she finds her mom's diary from the year she was born, she invites three men who could possibly be that man. Sophie is convinced that she will know her father as soon as she sees him but soon realizes that she hasn't a clue. Mayhem ensues when her mother is displeased and confused that the three are there, the men all think they're the father and her fiancé is getting fed up with the whole mess.

Little Mermaid.. Ariel's Beginning
This is a story about Athena as narrated by Ariel. I just can't resist the songs of this movie.

I am thinking of another movie of this genre. It is about somebody who owns an apartment in New York which he hasn't visited for so many years. When he finally went there he found out that somebody is living there. They were musicians and foreigners. The guy that lived there have a some type of drums and somehow the owner of the apartment became interested in it and then he learned to play the drums. They were playing in the park where couple of people played music with the same drums that they have. On the train station, the guy was arrested because of the train ticket and then they found out that the guy has some immigration problems. The owner of the apartment helped the guy out and helped his mother to visit the guy... oh gosh.. I hope somebody can tell me about this movie as it bugs me now....I am so grrr that I can't remember the title of this movie....
