Alternatives and Options from Walgreens

This post brought to you by Walgreens. All opinions are 100% mine.

As of January 01, 2012, Walgreens is no longer part of Express Scripts’ pharmacy provider network. This has been the result of a dispute between Walgreens and Express Script, despite Walgreens’ negotiation for a new contract to continue as part of its pharmacy provider network. This is one sad news to all customers who have established connections and business relationships with their pharmacists. The removal of Walgreens in the pharmacy provider network has caused too much inconvenience among the many customers and health care plan members. Customers have to find themselves changing their pharmacists, driving even farther for prescriptions to get filled and threatening the existence of community pharmacies.

Thankfully, Walgreens has listened to the customer’s woes and needs. Walgreens is offering special discounts on their annual membership.  Checked out Walgreens Prescription Savings Club. Family membership is only $10 a year and everyone gets covered, including pets, plus discounts to over 8000 brand-name and generic medicines. Bonuses are also given when customers purchase Walgreens brand products and photo finishing services. Walgreens also offers 24-hour and drive-thru pharmacies in the country, thus making prescription filling easy and accessible.

Customers can also get updates by liking Walgreens on Facebook and following Walgreens on Twitter. So stay updated and be healthy with Walgreens.
