Soothe a Sunburn

I am one of the people that feels so miserable whenever it is HOT! I would rather stay inside than to enjoy the outdoors.

I know that summer is suppose to be enjoyed and I am sure kids and older ones that loves that outdoors look forward for this time. Anyway, if SPF slips your mind and the sun exacts toll for your forgetfulness, there are remedies for your scorched skin.

These are some of Home Remedy that will Soothe a Sunburn:
  • ALOE VERA. Apply some aloe vera gel because it increases blood flow to the skin and decreases pain and inflammation. Use as pure a gel as possible - look for one with 98% or more aloe vera.
  • HONEY - If you can't find aloe vera, smear honey on the burned parts. It is another natural salve that promotes healing.
  • ASPIRIN or IBUPROFEN - Both drugs ease inflammation and pain, and speed healing.
  • WASHCLOTH - Once you peel, gently wipe away dead skin with a soft cloth after showering. Avoid exfoliants, bath salts, oils, and rubbing alcohol because all of which irritate skin.
If the burn is over a large area, it may cause fever. If it begins to blister or form a honey-colored crust, seek medical help.

I live here in Michigan, but I complained a lot of the cold weather here. We had 3 weeks vacation at Florida, but I hate staying out in the sun. :)

Aloe Vera is used as a common treatment for sunburns. Not only it soothes the skin, it may also assist in the healing process. Apply to the affected areas as needed. Although the gel extracted directly from an aloe Vera plant works best, if you don't have ready access to one, you may use an 'over the counter' Aloe Vera Cream that contains the gel.
