Be Kind to Animals Week

-1 This week (May 3-9, 2009) is American Humane Association's Be Kind to Animals Week. HomeAgain supports Be Kind to Animals Week. This week is dedicated to helping animals find shelter, provide them with proper medical care and find them a home to love them. There are thousands of animals that are abused, abandoned and lost who are in need of help.

As a pet owner, you can help by visiting the Home Again Web Site and outfit your pet with proper identification that cannot fall off or become impossible to read. You can protect your pet by microchipping. Microchipping is a new permanent form of identification. The veterinarian simply injects it, giving pets the best chance of being reunited with their owners when lost.

You and I can also help by encouraging pet owners to register their pets at Bring Pets Home a fundraising Web site specifically created to help shelter animals. HomeAgain will donate $1 for every pet registered to this program during this time frame. has a collection of popular retailers where you and I can shop. By shopping at these retailers, a portion of the purchase we make will be donated to animal shelters for food and medical care.

Let's be kind to animals, join me in supporting HomeAgain - a comprehensive national pet-recovery service and Bring Pets Home - a Non-Profit Care Helping Animals and Animal Shelters.
