TCP: On Ice

Don't ask me how many times I have watched Ice Age. There was a time when we have to watch it every day! I love the movie though. My daughter loves it the most. She can mimic the sloth so good. She also like the opening scene with the squirrel and a nut. My daughter is always animated when watching this movie that is why it is my choice for the week.

Set during the Ice Age, a saber tooth tiger, a sloth, and a woolly mammoth find a lost human infant, and they try to return him to his tribe.

Football Season Almost Over

I can't believe that football season is almost over. Though my favorite team LSU will not be playing for SEC Conference Title nor BCS ball game, I am still happy that they end up 10-2 on their record. The way they started playing and with all those clock management issues, who could believe that they will end up to have a winning season? I know there were far too many controversies on their games but well that's a game win or lose and no excuses!

I admit, football is really addicting. We always spend our Saturdays watching the game. Most of the games are televised on local channels or ESPN so we can flick our channels to whichever game we want to see. I am glad we have directv at home so we are able to watch different sports show.

When I applied for our cable services, I made sure that the direct tv package that I will get was the one with sports channels (included). Hubby and I like watching different sports so we needed that kind of package. As the football season soon to end, we can't wait for the bowl games, championship game and of course who would want to miss the Superbowl!

If you have problems with your sports channel you better check out the direct tv packages before football season ends or you will miss the real action in the world of football.

Monday Movie Meme: Paradise

New Zealand is a paradise as shown in Lord of the Rings. That was the first thought that came to my mind when I read today's theme for Monday Movie Meme. Oh... New Zealand is definitely on my travel list. Another thing that convinced me to visit NZ is my sister's family will be migrating there next year.

I also like to visit Montana as I find it very pretty as shown in Legends of the Fall. I am weird. I like snow!

Gifts with a little heart

It's all too easy to just go out and buy something for your friends and family for Christmas. But that can also get unnecessarily expensive. I mean, if someone cares about you, they don't want you to break the bank just to get them a gift! So I try to come up with neat and creative homemade gifts to give to people for the holidays. Plus, I have a lot more fun making and personalizing the gifts anyway.

I've made food mixes and stuck them in jars and neat looking containers, but I thought that I would come up with some new stuff this year, so I went looking online for some inspiration. When I was doing that I saw some stuff on an internet company offer and decided to click here to order the service.

I decided that one of the best homemade gifts that I'm going to make this year is a little blanket for my new niece. I had a little blanket when I was little that I loved taking with me everywhere, so I bought some bunny printed fabric that I think is going to make a really cute blanket.

Black Friday Craze

Black Friday Sales at Walmart starts at 12MN. We were there earlier because we wanted to be part of it. I was thinking of checking out their laptop which was priced at $198!

We know there were a lot of people because it is hard to find a parking space. When we got inside, people were already in different sections where the supposed to be sale items were located. The pictures above shows how crazy it was and to think it was not midnight yet. We decided to skip and just go home and leave the Black Friday Craze to them.

Oh Sweetness!

Chocolates are the perfect gift no matter what occasion it is. Whether it is holiday, birthday or special event, chocolate is the ideal gift. The great thing about chocolate candy is that the presentation is just as important as the candy itself. There are very few people that don’t like or cannot have chocolates due to allergies. Majority of us enjoy the sinful treat every now and then without regretting it but instead savoring it. A box of chocolates can speak volumes - it always makes someone's day!

If you don't have any idea what to give to somebody you know, Say It With Chocolates! Buy a box of chocolate at See's Candies, a premiere chocolate candy store that has been specializing in high quality chocolates. They have excellent reputation on selling the best boxed chocolates with only the finest grade raw ingredients. On top of their high quality chocolate, they also offer the most friendly and old-fashioned service!

Ahhhh...so stuffed with turkey I almost forgot! Happy Thanksgiving to all who celebrate.

So...here we go!

1. Three things I must have on my Thanksgiving table: turkey, vegetables, dinner rolls.

2. I was sacked out on the couch watching movies.

3. This is a crazy shopping day.

4.It is time to decorate for Christmas.

5. Oh, man, thankfully it's Friday.

6. I will be delighted to perfect the art of online money making.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to watching some football games, tomorrow my plans include watching LSU vs Arkansas game and Sunday, I want to just relax !

Car Shopping

It's Black Friday today. Most of the American populace are out of their houses since early dawn despite the cold weather condition to do their shopping. This is the time of the year where if you are lucky you can get the best deal and pay a specific item for less! I wonder if there are any sweet deals for Cadillac Srx or for a Hyundai Veracruz? I am sure that somewhere there are car dealers that will offer irresistible deals during this time. I think that if this day is the best day to shop for electronics then perhaps, it is the best day to do car shopping too.

I like shopping for car online because there are plenty of resources to read about certain cars. I can also read the car specification and user reviews. It helps that there is a website like The Car Connection because this website provides reviews, and other latest news about cars. At thecarconnection.com you can find reviews of different cars by its make. It is very easy to find everything about Volvo S60, it's picture in different views, price range and dealers that sell this car.

Learning about cars, its history, models and make and other marketing news about specific car is easy if you visit wiki cars. Its not too late to learn about your favorite car. Research it before buying.

TCP: DreamWorks Movie

DreamWorks has made awesome movies and a lot of blockbuster movies thus it is impossible to choose one. You all know how much I like the movie "Tropic Thunder". It is a DreamWorks movie. I know that If I will feature it here you will be tired of it. I also like the "Shrek" series which is one of the top grossers. Then there is the "Ice Age". The list will go on and on for sure. But, since my daughter likes to watch a movie with horse in it, I want to feature Dreamer.

Ben Crane believes that a severely injured racehorse deserves another chance. He and his daughter Cale adopt the horse (in fact is a mare)and save it of being sacrificed by the owner. The arrival of the mare to Crane's farm, will be the perfect opportunity for both father and daughter to reconstruct their lost familiar bond. "Soñador" (Dreamer in English), the renamed mare, despite its broken leg, maybe could have another chance to return to the racecourse, with the help of Cale, Ben, and his father, Pop.

The movie was loosely inspired by the story of the mare Mariah's Storm. She was a promising filly who was being pointed towards the Breeder's Cup Juvenile Fillies in 1993 but then broke her cannon bone. She recovered and later won some graded races. She started in the 1995 Breeder's Cup Distaff and finished ninth. She was owned by Thunderhead Farms and trained by Don Von Hemel. She's now known mostly for being the dam of Giant's Causeway.

Monday Movie Meme: Mind Games

Mind game movies are one of my favorites. I like to watch these type of movies because it keeps my adrenaline going, it makes my mind wonder what is going to happen next.

Here's my faves:
  • Bourne Series. I love them all. No questions ask.

  • Silence of the Lambs. Hannibal Lecter is one of cinema’s most maniacal manipulators.

  • The Usual Suspects. Criminals raid a cocaine shipment on the orders of Keyser Soze, a mythical criminal mastermind. But nothing is as it seems.

  • The Manchurian Candidate. The Soviets brainwash a U.S. soldier into becoming a Communist assassin.

  • Basic Instinct. The sex and violence in this Sharon Stone movie was so shocking.

Mall Day

We went to the mall today. We ate at the food court but the food was not really good. It was a bit pricey too which is to be expected as it was a mall after all. I found some Guess shirts at a very reasonable price.

Andrea enjoyed playing at the little playground near the food court. She and her dad played while I was shopping.

The mall' Christmas tree is huge!

The Hidden Spy

The Internet is so powerful nowadays. By just a click of your mouse you will be able to find anything and everything. When I mean everything, you will be able to find all those information and website that are not suitable for our young kids.

Technology has evolved and it is undeniable that our kids are all very knowledgeable on how internet works. But with all the predators lurking around, are our kids safe? Of course not! Internet predators are just there lurking and waiting for their victims that is why as parents, we need to take control! We need to use hidden spies to our computer to make sure that even in our absence we still can control our kids and how they use our computers. By using and installing a Key logger to our computer we can do that. A Keylogger allows us to find out what other users do on our computer in our absence. It is designed for hidden computer monitoring and the monitoring of the computer activity.

There are Computer Spying Tools that can secretly capture passwords, chats, screenshots & more. These tools help you to find out what programs your children run and what they search in the net, and to check them. There is a large number of internet crime rate. We can stop it and protect our children by installing monitoring devices and programs.

A Diamond in the Rough

Reading for me is a great escape from the pressures of life, in addition to watching satellite tv package deals when I am not reading. A book I strongly recommend is A Diamond in the Rough by Lena Williamson. The story follows the life of a young woman, Diamond Chase. After falling in love and looking forward to expanding her family with the birth of her first child, Diamond finds out that life is not a fairytale. The loss of her fiance in a car accident propels Diamond to fend for herself and three month old baby. Diamonds determination to make a place for herself in the world actually results in her destruction.

This story is one of love, loss, self discovery and death. To make money, Diamond is lured into the world of prostitution and pornography. Diamond suffers the same fate of many young girls when they enter into a lifestyle where they do not belong, she gets eaten alive.

This story resonates with me because I can relate. The single mother, the young woman unsure of what life has to offer and the woman trying to make a bright future out of a dark past can all relate. We see ourselves in this character and hope to find our way and make a name for ourselves that we can be proud of.

Mobile Amplifiers

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Dual Electronics. All opinions are 100% mine.

Dual Electronics has a new line of mobile amplifiers, the XPE series, which are now available nationwide. These amplifiers are the perfect gift we can give to our husband who enjoys music while cruising around with their cars. It is so wonderful that they released this product in time for our holiday shopping.

I admit that my husband loves to listen to music while driving. Giving him a mobile amplifier will be a gift he would be happy to receive. The XPE series is very easy to install even in small pieces. Installing it is just like a breeze which is a plus factor for my husband who is not very handy on things. I like this XPE series because its three amps feature MOSFET power supplies, variable crossovers, and 2 ohm stability. It also features the direct wire inputs which will ensure that there won't be any need for extra terminal.

You want your ride to be cool? Purchase the XPE Series for your ultimate Car Audio experience! Buy either the XPE1700 which is specifically designed for mono subwoofer applications or the XPE2700 or the XPE4700. The two latter version offer simultaneous stereo and bridged operation which means it has the capability of connecting both full-range speakers and a subwoofer to the same amplifier. The choice is yours, make your decision now and enjoy a different experience with mobile amplifiers.

Trying for a healthier Thanksgiving

Guest post written by Margaret Beacon

I've been on somewhat of a health kick lately and feel like I'm in so much better shape. Plus, lots of people have been complimenting me and telling me that it looks like I've lost weight! Besides feeling like I have more energy, that's a really great side effect. So I'm going to try and find some healthier ways to fix some of the Thanksgiving classic dishes.

I've been reading a lot about what's better for you to eat online with our clear wireless internet and have been finding out all kinds of information. I found out that both pumpkin pie and lemon meringue pie is a lot healthier and has less calories than pecan pie and cheery pie! I would have never guessed all of that.

But another thing that I found that I think would be really good and a whole lot healthier is making olive oil mashed potatoes instead of regular old ones. I actually made them for dinner the other night and they were really good! So they're definitely a go for Thanksgiving.

Nostalgia #27: Cellphone Signal

Capturing the cellphone signal at my Mom's house (in the far far away land from the city) is a pain.

I am not exaggerating! I have to stand on these chairs just so I can make a phone call. I have to hang my cellphone after talking to ensure that it has a signal and so that I can receive text messages.

This was a common scenario before I came here in the USA. My boyfriend-fiance then never fails to call me more than once a day thus I need cellphone signal at all times.

Goodbye Xoom

I am a loyal customer of Xoom Money Transfer Services. I have been using their service since I got here in the USA. I like their service because it is quick and cheap.

Recently, I encountered problems with their system. Since mid-October I couldn't successful;y send money anymore. They always cancel my transaction and when I emailed their customer service their reason for doing so is so vague. It is frustrating because I am enjoying the convenience of sending money online. But after so many tries, I am still not successful with sending money that is why I am saying goodbye to xoom... I am now using another money transfer service and it seems to be working just fine!

Chuggington Is The Perfect Show For Toddlers

The Author of this post is Morgan Mcleod

One of my favorite shows on television is Chuggington. This is a show about colorful trains with painted faces. They work together around town to solve problems. Sometimes one of them will do something that is not very team-oriented, but they will learn their lesson from it in a good-natured manner. The vivid colors are one of the best parts of the show; they make it easy for toddlers to differentiate between the characters. Another great aspect to the show is the music. The theme song is very catchy, probably because it's so simple. And as the song is playing, the trains are moving and tooting around the tracks. They all end up in the same spot, which is on separate tracks and facing the viewers with smiles. This definitely helps set the right tone for the show.

You might be wondering why an adult would list Chugginton as one of his favorite shows. It's because I have a 2-year-old who loves it. We watch it on Free on Demand on direct tv whenever we can. It really is a great show. It's so good that I think most adults would be entertained by it. When the show is over, my son constantly repeats, “Chuggington! Chuggington! Chuggington!” It's really cool. If something is going to make him that happy, then it's certainly going to make me happy as well.

TCP: N

There are couple of movies that starts with letter N that I like watching. National Treasure and National Treasure: Book of Secrets are but a few of my favorites. If we include the films that starts with"The" then, I have to include: The Negotiator and The Net.

For this week, I want to feature National Security. I enjoyed watching this movie because Martin Lawrence is one of my favorites.

A white ex-cop and an African-American who he supposedly beat up (which thus got him off the force) team up to save each other's lives. Two mismatched security guards are thrown together to bust a smuggling operation.

Myrtle Beach Vacation

Every year, our family always try to do something. We go to places and just relax and build memories. We have been to different places but we have never been to Myrtle Beach as a family. One of these days, we will surely have a vacation in one of those famous Myrtle Beach Accommodations. It will not be this year as we already have our vacation this year. I need to save some if we plan to spend our vacation in Myrtle but I know for sure that pretty soon, we will be able to visit the famous place where tourists flocked all year round. Myrtle beach is a wonderful beach vacation destination. Some of my friends have visited the place and they were witnesses of how beautiful the place is. I am hoping to catch some good promo prices for Myrtle Beach hotel reservations when I will book our vacation there.

For now, I will just feast my eyes on the beautiful Myrtle beach ocean front resorts offered by http://www.seasidemb.com. Monday Movie Meme: Afterlife

When it comes to afterlife movies, the following movies come to my mind...

Heart and Souls
One of my hubby's favorite. Robert Downy is just so good at his role.
Heart and Souls is a 1993 fantasy/comedy film about the souls of four deceased people who are trapped on earth and can only be seen by a single living human being who is recruited to help them take care of their unfinished business. The movie was directed by Ron Underwood and was filmed in San Francisco.

Heaven Can Wait
A Los Angeles Rams quarterback, accidentally taken away from his body by an over-anxious angel before he was supposed to die, comes back to life in the body of a recently-murdered millionaire.

The Lovely Bones
I like how this movie is being narrated.
Centers on a young girl who has been murdered and watches over her family - and her killer - from heaven. She must weigh her desire for vengeance against her desire for her family to heal.

What Dreams May Come
Oh I just love this love story.
Chris Neilson dies to find himself in a heaven more amazing than he could have ever dreamed of. There is one thing missing: his wife. The plot centers on Chris, a man who dies and goes to Heaven, but eventually descends into Hell to rescue his wife.

Ghost
It is a sentimental story of eternal love between characters Sam and Molly (Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore), but the real star was Whoopi Goldberg and her portrayal of Oda Mae Brown, a fake psychic who suddenly finds that she can hear the dead.

Web Hosting Reviews

In the blogging world, a few changes occur few weeks ago. Some pay to blog companies doesn't accept free hosted blogs anymore. If you have a blog, you are encouraged to have it hosted. Because of this changes, many web owners or bloggers have faced a difficult decision... how to choose the best web host?

Many of my friends have resorted to web hosted blogs and their common problem is the downtime. Downtime greatly affects the visitors of your website. If you are selling products or services, downtime will affect your productivity. It is then important to read web hosting reviews before deciding which web host to choose. It is also important to consider the bandwidth, customer support, disk space and some other essential features when deciding for your web hosting services. Once you find a web host that will satisfy your needs, you go for it. Just remember that there are plenty of web hosting companies and there is a tremendous competition thus, you have a lot of choices. Just take time to compare and you will definitely get an improved service.

Enhance Your Garden

I know that winter is getting close thus it is not a perfect time to enhance your garden. But when we talk about enhancing your home garden it requires a lot of planning and preparation. A good project to tackle for summer is to enhance your garden and home's curb appeal by adding an arbor to your yard. This sort of project can take some time especially if you want to do it yourself. You will require plenty of materials and tools to build garden arbors. Designing and building your own arbor needs your creativity and patience thus you need enough time to plan for it.

Adding arbors to your home garden or yard can definitely enhance the appeal of your place. Whether the arbors are in the back yard, garden, patio, or other area, an arbor will create an ambiance and charm that is well worth the time and investment.

For home gardeners that prefer a fast result, there are ready to assemble kit that you can buy in making your arbors. Yard Arbors offer a huge collection of arbors. Mommy Moments: Favorite Color

Sorry for the lat post peeps... I just happen to be lazy today!

Anyway, talking about favorite color. Let's see. As of the moment, my answer to this is UNDECIDED. You see, Andrea likes every color. And because I am her mom, I think whatever color she wears, she looks fantastic. She has a lot of pink color clothes and toys because it is normal for girls. But to pinpoint what's her fave color is very hard to do. I guess I have to wait and see until she can tell me.

Anyway, for now, we just assume that she likes pink...

She got toys and more toys in pink....

A brand new kitchen

Guest post written by Sally Rochester

I have a really small kitchen, but I do get a whole lot of use out of it. See, I am constantly baking different things because me and my boyfriend have the biggest sweet tooth. But the kitchen in my apartment is so old looking that I think I owe it to myself to have it fixed up because I spend so much time in it.

I plan on calling homeproimprovement to come and replace my cabinets and counter tops because they just look worn from so much use over the years.

But that isn't the only thing that I'm changing about my favorite room at my place. I'm going to try and paint a wall mural in there too. I'm thinking maybe the silhouette of a tree with silhouettes of little birds scattered throughout it might be a neat little whimsical touch. But I'm also thinking about maybe some geometric shapes in an abstract pattern. I guess I should decide that soon because that will really change the feel of the rest of the decor.

Nostalgia #26: Me in Manila

I was 4 (almost 5) years old when I first went to Manila. My sister brought me there. I have some funny memories about that trip. I know that I wanted to bring home an airplane because we often pass MIA (Manila International Airport) which means I always see an airplane in their terminal and I cried because I wanted one. There are some memories that up until now remains a family laughing matter.

I have treasured the outfit I was wearing in this pic until I was in high school. I think this was the nicest outfit that I got for a long time.

Dressing Up Your Little One

I am so blessed to have a baby girl. I like having a girl because it is always fun to dress her up. Having a baby girl is like having your own live doll. I enjoy dressing her up and putting some ribbons on her hair and I also like making different hairstyles for her long hair.

Shopping for girls clothing is always easy for me. Trust me, when it comes to shopping especially browsing those sale and clearance items I can assure you that I have all the patience in the world for that task. I can proudly say that I am a good bargain hunter.

It is true that our little ones grow so fast and somehow it is not very practical to spend a lot of money for their clothes because they will outgrow them very fast but as a mother, we all know that we cannot resist all those stylish and fashionable clothes for our kids. Now that holidays are coming, start shopping for your little one's dresses. Dress them up in comfort and style!

TCP: Favorite Steven Spielberg's Film

Nobody can deny the fact that Spielberg is very talented when it comes to making awesome movies. The list will go on and on. Of course, the ET seems to be everybody's favorite. The Indiana Jones series is also full of entertainment. Who can forget the Jaws and the Jurassic Park? Undeniably Saving Private Ryan is also a good one. In fact, I have seen this movie countless of times as we own a collectors' copy of this film. Then there's Catch me if You Can which is very interesting.

Spielberg maybe known for directing movies that are full of suspense but he can also make a movie that will make you cry to no end. Thus, I am featuring his tear jerker The Color Purple.

The Color Purple is a 1985 American period drama film based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel of the same name by Alice Walker. The film tells the story of a young African American girl named Celie and shows the problems African American women faced during the early 1900s, including poverty, racism, and sexism. The character Celie is transformed as she finds her self-worth through the help of two strong female companions.

Monday Movie Meme: The Worst Movie

So far, this are the worst movie that I have ever seen...

The Happening
Okay I love Mark Wahlberg thus I was so excited to rent the movie. It was a disappointment. I will never buy this movie for sure!

Storyline
Elliot Moore is a high school science teacher who quizzes his class one day about an article in the New York Times. It's about the sudden, mysterious disappearance of bees. Yet again Nature is doing something inexplicable, and whatever science has to say about it will be, in the end, only a theory. Scientists will bring out more theories, but no explanations, when a more urgent dilemma hits the planet. It begins in Central Park. Suddenly and inexplicably, the behavior of everyone in the park changes in a most bizarre and horrible way. Soon, the strange behavior spreads throughout the city and beyond. Elliot, his wife, Alma, and Jess, the young daughter of a friend, will only have theories to guide them where to run and where to hide. But theories may not be enough.

We've Sensed It. We've Seen The Signs. Now... It's Happening.... I hated it!

The Way of War
Cuba Gooding, Jr. is one of the actors that I admire as he can really perform well. This movie was just a disaster. Waste of my time. Definitely hated it.

Storyline
Paramilitary operative David Wolfe stumbles upon an international conspiracy connecting presidential cabinet members to a Middle Eastern terrorist plot. Wanting to expose the truth, Wolfe defies orders and returns to the US as an army of one fighting for American security and integrity.

Another movie that no way will I ever buy a copy!

Looking For The Perfect Sofa

Written by Lawrence Lester

When I furniture hunt, I explore all possibilities. I won't rule out any kind of fabric or color, no matter how far out there it might be. Keeping an open mind about everything is one of my personal goals. I don't want to miss out on something spectacular just because I couldn't picture it looking great in my living room.

Shopping for a sofa leaves me lots of room to explore the more creative, "out there" designs that are featured in bargain areas. I'm not above buying a bargain sofa if I find one that matches my mood and personality well. I love taking home the rare find. The main thing about the sofa is that it has to go well with my television, because as soon as I come home from furniture shopping, I'll be watching satellite television from http://www.direct.tv/direct-tv-hd.html. That's another of my main loves in life.

I look at all colors, styles, and fabrics before I make the big decision about which sofa to bring home. It has to match all my great pictures, or at least has to go with a picture I have my eye on. If it does that, then I'm home-free and ready to take home my brand new sofa. I love to buy new furniture and usually change sofas a couple times a year, just to keep up with the times.

Nostalgia #25: My Parents

I am very fortunate to have a wonderful set of parents. They have their own flaws but they are the best parents anyone can have.

They are a bit traditional but they have adapted to the change of the new millennium (ha ha ha). They understand that today's lifestyle is different from their time and that they are cool with it. I used to remember that both my parents encourages us to go out have fun, go to parties, go date but be responsible. My parents are very cool and even though they are not well-educated they are both eloquent.

They have struggled so hard in order for their kids to finish school and have careers. Their sacrifices are worth it and they are now enjoying the fruits of their labor. I surely miss them both and I can't wait to see them again!

It was a decision that will be favorable for all of them as they will be united with the head of the family who is currently working in New Zealand. Second Day of Halloween 2010 was more fun as Andrea was able to meet The Backyardigans. The mall was full of people. Kids can go trick or treat in every store but we didn't do that because we don't want anymore candies (lol). We brought Andrea to the toy store again and she had a blast with the toys especially the remote control car. Well, we decided to buy her one (hahaha suckers!)

Here's a collage of what our second day of Halloween! Andrea was dressed as Princess!

Halloween at the Mall

As I have mentioned, we didn't continue trick or treating instead we went to the mall. It was already chilly so I had to put an undershirt long sleeves for Andrea's costume. Despite the fact that it was chilly, it didn't stop Andrea from having a great time.

She counted all the lamp posts (that has series lights on them) and played with the animals near the food court.

Mall was definitely more fun for Andrea... and for me too as I have scouted what store to shop next time! ( I am coming back to shop at the Guess outlet store!)
