My Parents' Wedding Anniversary

The main reason why we went home to Philippines for a vacation is my parents' golden wedding anniversary.

Only few couples are blessed to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. My parents were one of them. We were so proud to celebrate their wedding anniversary.

They had their renewal of wedding vows. The ceremony was officiated by our very own Fr. Leonel. Fr. Leonel is a family friend. He had been a friend through ups and downs of our family. Then it was also attended by Fr. Arlims ( family friend), Fr. Junjun(cousing) and Fr. Joel (current parish priest). These 4 priest were on retreat but they had to sneak out of the retreat just to make sure that they can be at my parents' wedding anniversary.

The celebration was a success despite the very hard rain that poured on us while we were at the church. Early dinner was served after the ceremony. Plenty of food were served as we prepared beef dishes, pork dishes, chicken dishes and 2 roast pigs.

After making sure that people had their dinner, we also took our chance to grab something to eat.

Great 5 Years....

5 Years of Great Marriage!

It has been 5 years yet sometimes, I feel like it was just yesterday. At times, I also feel it has been long time ago.

I have no complains. Married life is not a bed of roses all the times. There are ups and downs but I am proud to say that we have less of those. We are content with each other. We are happy. What is most important to us is we are together and we deal everything together. Our love for each other have not faded. We are still like boyfriends and girlfriends. We always find joy in being together and enjoying each other's company.

Happy Anniversary to both of us! I love you babe!

Note:
To be honest, we have forgotten our anniversary. We were too shocked to notice that the day has passed already. Our anniversary was last December 1.

A Friend's Wedding

A good friend of ours got married last Saturday. We were there to witness it. It was a beautiful wedding. That was also the first time that I attended a non-catholic wedding and the first time that I attended a wedding in the USA.

The ceremony was short and solemn. It was great to see all our friends were there too to witness as Lotlot and Mike started a new chapter of their lives.

A Glimpse of my Brother's Wedding

My brother got married last Sunday (Philippine time). The ceremony and reception was held in Tagbilaran City. Earlier, they had a thanksgiving mass and party at our parents' place and on Saturday there will be another thanksgiving party at his wife's residence.

Their weddings motif is yellow and lilac.

This is my older brother Frony. The first time that I ever saw him wearing a tie. His partner is my friend and high school classmate Vilma.

Family picture consisting 3 of my sisters, our parents, and all my brothers.

Oh, I surely miss it and wished I was there!

My Youngest Brother is Getting Married

My youngest brother is getting married this June 2010. We were suppose to come home to attend the wedding but we decided not to because we have bigger plans. The family understands our decision and I am thankful that they understand our priorities.

My brother works abroad thus the planning is left to my sister-in-law with the help of my sisters. The exact date of the wedding is still not confirmed because it will all depends on when my brother will be able to get off the ship where he is currently working. There is already a tentative date for the wedding. Until the date is confirmed, they can't print their wedding invitations yet. Everything is already prepared. The celebrants of the wedding is already booked even if the date is not yet confirmed. Thankfully the celebrants are all family friends so if the date will be moved it won't be a big problem.

I was really surprised to know how much my sis-in-law have accomplished. She already made all the wedding giveaways, her wedding gown is already set and she also found a place to buy cheap bridesmaid dresses. The motif of the wedding is purple and gold. I am sure that these colors will be beautiful.

Of course, I wish to be home for the wedding but I know it is not possible. I will just wait for their pictures instead.

Wedding Invitations

I love weddings. I love the rush and the adrenaline while preparing for the wedding. When I was still in the Philippines, I used to coordinate wedding arrangements. I have coordinated countless wedding arrangement of family, friends and even acquaintances. I enjoy it a lot because at the back of my mind, it was like preparing for my own wedding. Wedding preparations demand a lot of time because there are so many things to arrange... wedding invitations invitations, flowers, receptions, guests, give-away... and more!

I am very particular when it comes to suggesting what type of wedding invitations should be used. I always tell my friends that I prefer that they will opt to use letterpress wedding invitation because they are elegant and very classy. I always believe that the type of wedding invitation you are handing out to your guests will reflect what kind of wedding they are going to attend.

Speaking of weddings, my sister Menmen plans to have a Catholic wedding ceremony next year. We have talked about it for a while now, and we both agreed that she use letterpress wedding invitations, which will be made here in the USA. I just wish that I can be there on her wedding day. Let's just see how we will fare economically by that time!

Memories of My Wedding Day

I came here in the USA November 28, 2007. Three days later, I married the love of my life! Our wedding was very ordinary. We both decided to have a simple wedding.

I remember that day was the coldest day of my life. Philippines' weather never goes below 70 but that day the temperature was below 10. I wore jeans and a sleeveless shirt covered with leather jacket but I still felt like I wore nothing because the cold air was just seeping through my clothes.

We went to the courthouse that day to apply for marriage license but then the clerk said we can get married right away so we did! Only my friend Alice was with us. We were married by a judge who recited a beautiful prayer that I really appreciate. We went home and got hot wings for lunch! Later that day Dave went to work! Our wedding day was just like any ordinary day.

Dave and I plans on getting married the traditional way in the Philippines. A wedding with a lot of preparations. A well-planned wedding that will be attended by family and friends. . We both wanted a wedding that will be extraordinary.
