I have never heard of a singing bowl before. While surfing the net, I found out some interesting information about singing bowls. In Buddhist practice, singing bowls are used as a support for meditation, trance induction and prayer. A Singing Bowl is a unique handicraft from Tibet and Nepal.
The best known singing bowls are those that are imported from Tibet and Nepal. If you are interested about singing bowls especially the Crystal Singing Bowls, you can check the Silver Sky Imports website. They have variety of singing bowls in different designs. Their singing bowl has an individually recorded sound file.

nice post...http://gooddell.blogspot.com/
Follow your heart and your ears. Take a little time to listen to both and hear/feel them at the deepest level. That being said, be aware that the so called "crystal" bowls (made of silicone) can be easily broken, like if you or someone else accidentally bumps into it with anything but the soft leather covered mallet that usually comes with it. Also, the sounds that they emit can be WAY too intense.
The Tibetan Singing Bowls on the other hand are very durable (many of them are antiques from 100 to 400 years old!). Also, they have mellower, more calming, subtle, more complex, polyphonic tones which they produce. They are the real deal, with a history which dates back to the life of the historic Buddha.
Personally, I've found incredible Tibetan singing bowls at http://www.Bodhisattva.com They've got a wonderful website with tons of really high quality photos, Mp3 sound samples, videos, history of the bowls, etc. They ship worldwide and offer a 30-day satisfaction or your money back guarantee. And they give a percent of their profits every year to the International Campaign for Tibet. Check it out!
